Santa Fe Opera’s The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs, by Mason Bates and Mark Campbell, has been nominated for four Grammy Awards for the  61st GRAMMY® Awards that will take place on February 10, 2019. The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs is an opera that tells the story of Steve Jobs through music and acting. The music was composed by Mason Bates along with an English-language libretto by Mark Campbell. It was originally commissioned by the Santa Fe Opera, Seattle Opera, and San Francisco Opera, with support from Cal Performances.  The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs had its World Premiere at the 2017 Santa Fe Opera where it opened to critical acclaim. Every showing was sold out.

The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs takes place at a time when Jobs must confront his own mortality and circle back on the events that shaped his personal and professional life.

The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, performed The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs in September 2018. The production will open February 23, 2019 at Seattle Opera and will appear in San Francisco Opera’s 2019-2020 season.
