The series will first air on WGN starting in July. The cast includes Olivia Williams (The Sixth Sense, Dollhouse), John Benjamin Hickey (Flags of our Fathers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), Daniel Stern (Breaking Away, Stardust Memories), Harry Lloyd (The Iron Lady, Game of Thrones), Ashley Zukerman, Rachel Brosnahan, Christopher Denham and Katja Herbers.
Most of the filming for the “one hour” drama series will be done on a set being built in Santa Fe.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome the producers of ‘Manhattan’ to New Mexico,” says Nick Maniatis, director of New Mexico State Film Office. “With them, they bring a story that touches on our state and nation’s history, and we look forward to providing them with top notch crew, facilities, and vendors to aid in the telling of their story.”
Hundreds of crew members and actors from New Mexico will be employed to help with the series, which is expected to last for several years.
Editor’s Note (12/10/2014): Since the original publishing of this article, Manhattan has been doing well for WGN America. You can also view it on Hulu Plus. It’s a great TV series. Be sure to check it out.
