Evening Concert Nordic Voices

Evening Concert Nordic Voices

When: February 8, 2019

From: 07:30 PM - 10:00 PM

St. Johns College The Great Hall

Nordic Voices is a six-voice a cappella group that has been making waves not only in Scandinavia, but in places as far afield as South Africa, Taiwan, Bolivia and the United States. Artistic creativity, versatility, technical precision—these are the primary ingredients of the perfect recipe for a performing arts ensemble. One other ingredient, that indescribable something that we call audience appeal, makes the picture complete. These are the elements that make up Nordic Voices.

At one spot in Star Wars V, Luke Skywalker asks Yoda whether the dark side of The Force is stronger. Yoda looks at him and answers that the dark side is “quicker, easier, more seductive”. In times like these it is easier to think of all the bad things happening than the good ones, and regard the bad ones as something constant.

In this program Nordic Voices presents music from the light side of The Force, so to speak. The program is about love, about comfort and about playfulness. It is about focusing on the good sides of life, and about singing music that makes our cheeks go a little bit redder.

This concert is free for the St. John’s community, $20.00 for the public. Cash and checks are welcome. Please note that we will not have credit card service at this event.
