The Poeh Cultural Center at the Pueblo of Pojoaque, has finalized an agreement with the National Museum of the American Indian to open a groundbreaking new exhibition and research space that will feature 100 pots of Tewa origin at the Poeh. The exhibition, titled Di Wae Powa: They Came Back, is an historic partnership for both the Poeh and NMAI, because it involves a long-term co-stewardship and display of Tewa pottery that were collected from Tewa Pueblo potters in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. And now, those same pots will return home and be reunited with the descendants of their creators. The public exhibit opening is set for October 12 and will include Tewa Pueblo dances, foods, speakers and pottery demonstrations.
